Author Interview & Giveaway: Reaper by L.S. Murphy (Blog Tour)

Today we are here to celebrate the release of the YA Paranormal book Reaper by L.S. Murphy. Take a look at my interview with L.S. below and don't forget to enter the giveaway at the end as well.
Summary
There's no way sixteen year old Quincy Amarante will become the fifth grim reaper. None. Not over her shiny blue Mustang. Her Jimmy Choos. Or her dead body.

She’s supposed to enjoy her sophomore year, not learn about some freaky future Destiny says she has no choice but to fulfill.

It doesn’t take long for Quincy to realize the only way out of the game is to play along especially since Death can find her anyway, anywhere, anytime. And does.

Like when she’s reassuring her friends she wants nothing to do with former best friend Ben Moorland, who’s returned from god-knows-where, and fails. Miserably.

Instead of maintaining her coveted popularity status, Quincy’s goes down like the Titanic.

Maybe ... just maybe ... that’s okay.

It seems, perhaps, becoming a grim reaper isn’t just about the dead but more about a much needed shift in Quincy’s priorities—from who she thinks she wants to be to who she really is.

Jennifer: Can you describe Reaper in three words?
L.S.: Emotional Roller Coaster J

Jennifer: Did anything (or anyone) surprise you while writing Reaper?
L.S.:Logan did. I can’t tell you why, you’ll have to read it to find out. J

Jennifer: If you had to choose, what would be the theme song for Reaper?
L.S.: I’ll Follow You Down by Shinedown or Leave Out All the Rest by Linkin Park

Jennifer: Did any of your characters give you a hard time while writing your book?
L.S.: Quincy did. She fought with me during the first draft. When I finally realized why, the rewrites came easy.

Jennifer: Can you tell us three surprising facts about yourself?
L.S.: I’m claustrophobic.

In high school, I was an athlete.

I flunked out of college writing my first, and hidden, novel.

Jennifer: What is one book everyone should read before they die?
L.S.: Rats Saw God by Rob Thomas (no, not the singer.)

Jennifer: What project are you currently working on?
L.S.: My agent, the amazing Julia Weber, currently has my next project, a YA contemp currently titled Extra Innings. I’m in the midst of revising another YA contemp and recently finished an outline for another novel.

Jennifer: I can't thank you enough for taking time out to answer a few of my questions. Is there anything else you would like to mention to my readers before we part ways?
L.S.: Thanks for having me. I’d love to hear from anyone who has read Reaper. Shoot me an email or tweet if you’d like to ask any questions. I love to chat.

  5. I haven't read any books with reaper characters yet. I couldn't imagine just becoming a grim reaper. I think this book would make me wonder how I would react in the same situation all the time. I really enjoyed the interview! Those are some great questions. Old Follower :D Jaclyn @ JC's Book Haven
