Welcome to the When We Collide Blog Tour. Today we have A.L. Jackson answering some probing questions and she doesn't hold back. So if you want to learn more about this new Contemporary Romance that has been exploding on Goodreads, take a look at the interview below.
SummaryWilliam has spent six years running from his past and the last eight months trying to rid his mind of the dreams that increasingly haunt his nights. Trapped in a world of false ambitions and feigned affections, William knows he’s reached a breaking point and something’s going to give.
Maggie had lived her entire life without hope until one man showed her what it meant to be loved. He’d been her light in a lifetime of darkness. Six years ago, that darkness stole him away. Without him, she’s surrendered herself to an existence she doesn’t know how to escape.
When the family William left behind is struck by tragedy, he is called back to the one place he’s sworn to never return to again.
In a moment that will change his life forever, William comes face to face with the girl who, with one look, captured his heart. He is unable to ignore the buried desires and the hope for the future they’d once believed they’d have.
Now William is ready to fight to take back what had been stolen from him six years before.
But he never imagined what that fight might cost him.
Jennifer: Can we describe When We Collide in three words?
A.L.: Romance, intense, liberating.
Jennifer: Did anything (or anyone) surprise you
while writing When We Collide?
A.L.: It
surprised me how deep I ended up getting with my characters. I'd initially
pictured this a lighter story, but that was not what ended up coming out.
Jennifer: How did you come with the idea for When
We Collide?
A.L.: I
didn't really plan for When We Collide. The characters just kind of took over
my head, and I saw the first scene really clearly and had a pretty good sense
of the circumstances surrounding all the characters. From there, I sat down and started writing an
outline, hoping a story would come of it.
Jennifer: What is your favorite part of the
process of writing a book?
A.L.: Haha, well this might be an easy out
answer, but I love the final read through after I've completed all my edits.
It's so rewarding to read the final product.
Jennifer: Can you tell us three surprising facts
about yourself?
A.L.: Hmmm...surprising?! Let's see...
1. I have three kids, not so
surprising, but my oldest is 19, which still shocks me ;)
2. I've been with the same guy since I was 18 (yikes).
3. I'm still ridiculously
in love with him.
Jennifer:
Have you always wanted to be an author?
A.L.: I've always written in some capacity,
but what I wrote earlier was more poetry than the stories I write now. It wasn't until I started Pulled that I was
filled with the passion to become an author.
Jennifer: What is one book everyone should read
before they die?
A.L.: Lord of the Rings
Jennifer: What project are you currently working
on?
A.L.: Right now I'm working Lost To You,
which is a prequel to Take This Regret.
It's a novella-style story that should be out in January. From there, I
have a new full-length novel outlined that I cannot wait to get started on.
Jennifer: I can't thank you enough for taking
time out to answer a few of my questions. Is there anything else you would like
to mention before we part ways?
A.L.: I just want to say thanks for having me
on!
Author Bio
A.L.
Jackson first found a love for writing during her days as a young mother and
college student. She filled the journals
she carried with short stories and poems used as an emotional outlet for the
difficulties and joys she found in day-to-day life.
Years
later, she shared a short story she’d been working on with her two closest
friends and, with their encouragement, this story became her first full length
novel. A.L. now spends her days writing in Southern Arizona where she lives
with her husband and three beautiful children. Her favorite pastime is spending
time with the ones she loves.

Love that cover! I've seen this one before and it really intrigues me. Excellent interview :) I think it's fantastic that someone that has been with the same person that long has given us a romance story to enjoy. Also, agree about Lord of the Rings. Jaclyn @ JC's Book Haven
