Summary
No one would suspect shy Lily Calloway’s biggest secret. While everyone is dancing at college bars, Lily stays in the bathroom. To get laid. Her compulsion leads her to one-night stands, steamy hookups and events she shamefully regrets. The only person who knows her secret happens to have one of his own.

Loren Hale’s best friend is his bottle of bourbon. Lily comes at a close second. For three years, they’ve pretended to be in a real relationship, hiding their addictions from their families. They’ve mastered the art of concealing flasks and random guys that filter in and out of their apartment.

But when they go on a family boat trip, surrounded by open seas and limited male bodies in sight, Lily’s confronted with a big fear. Only one guy onboard can fill her addiction, and she’s sworn off going there with Loren Hale ever again.

Now the only person who can truly help her can barely help himself.

**This is a New Adult book recommended for readers 18 and up**

At A Glance
Addicted To You is unlike any book I have ever read. I'm still in awe. This book is like a hot mess, but in good way.

The Good
I don't even know were to begin. This book is a mindf**k if I ever seen one. First of all, you would never guess that Addicted To You is written by two sisters. Everything flowed together seamlessly. I easily got emotionally invested in the characters. Every chapter left me feeling raw and well used. I didn't want it to end.

I just love college reads. I love the dynamics of these adults, who are still kids in a lot of ways, freshly out on their own doing crazy stuff but are still trying to impress mommy and daddy. This book is not only about addictions (sexual addiction and alcoholism), it's also about family problems and struggles. I was surprised by how many real world problems were covered in this book.

Lily has needed sexual gratification since the age of 13. She's not sure why she's like this but all she knows is she feels physical pain when she doesn't have sex at least once a day. But Lily is also a very shy, nervous, and introverted person. She is deathly afraid her family will find out about her so she keeps them at a distance. The only person she has to fall back on is Lo (Loren). With his own secret to keep, he's the only person she can trust. But when she breaks her own rules and has sex with Lo, things start getting crazy. Lo and Lily's relationship gets both better and worse as they try to make it as a couple. They feed each other's addictions while keeping each other from going too far. I really felt bad for Lily because it was obvious she couldn't control her addiction. Seeing a sexual addiction through her eyes really made me realize how horrible it would be to be in her position. Having to have sex so often is debilitating and super dangerous. I think she handles it the best she can but it's obvious she needs outside help.

Lo's addiction is worse, but just by a little. Lo's is literally drinking himself to death. His father can't know though because Lo would lose his inheritance. His father won't take anything other than perfection. So Lo keeps Lily as his fake girlfriend to keep people from asking questions. Lo helps Lily with her addiction so that she will always be his designated driver. However, it's obvious watching Lily sleep with all these guys is tearing Lo apart. But when Lo finally snags Lily for himself, he starts to ruin everything with his drinking. He starts making bad decisions, decisions that lead Lily into danger. Lo's family situation is so sad and complicated I had no problem seeing why he chose to drink so much. My heart still goes out to him, and I'm very excited with the direction his character is going.

The side characters were amazing in Addicted To You. Rose, Ryke, and Conner were all complex characters with flaws of their own. Their support of Lo and Lily was so touching. They practiced tough love, which is what Lo and Lily needed.

Feels. So much feels. This book will leave you emotionally drained. It's was a rollercoaster of goods, bads, and the in-betweens. Addicted To You will open your eyes to addiction and make you really think about what some people go through every day of their lives. This is going to be an amazing series. These sister authors know how to write and keep you interested to the very end.

The Bad
Damn you, cliffhanger!!!!

I have to say, cheering for this couple was hard sometimes. I was so conflicted because they really were horrible for each other, them covering up and feeding their addictions is going to get one or both of them killed. It was like watching a car crash in slow motion.

I wish more was done for Lily. I feel like Lo is getting the help he needs but Lily is left to tough it out.

The Snuggly
Lilly and Lo have one of the most messed up relationships ever. They are so unhealthy for each other it's not even real. But their f**kedupness was fascinating to watch. I do believe they love each other in their own way and that there is hope for them.

With Lily having a sexual addiction, I expected more raunchy sex scenes. Don't get me wrong, we get some steamy sex scenes but not as sexy/scary as I thought they were going to be.

Final Thoughts
This book could easily be a 5 starer. There was technically nothing wrong with it, just personal preferences and annoyance got in the way of the last star. But I would recommend this book to everyone. Not everyone will like it with its emotional and rough subject matter, but I think most people will see the beauty in Lily and Lo's effed-up relationship. Highly recommended.
Quotes
“I'll always be yours. No distance or time apart will change that, Lily.”

My body aches. I wish I had the fire in my heart to stand up, to walk over to him. To put my hands on his chest and wrap a leg around his waist, straddling him on the gym bench seat. His breath falls short and he asks, “Lily?” But he doesn’t stop me. He lets me lean in, my hips sinking into his. I kiss the base of his neck while his restraint lessens, and he groans, throatily telling me to meet him in the locker room.

A damp towel hits my face, and I jolt back to the living. Lo raises his eyes accusingly. “Dream of me?”

My arms flush. “Maybe.” Hopefully I’m only transparent with Lo.

“You’re supposed to say yes.” His eyes twinkle in amusement.

“Yes,” I say with a smile. “Can we do it now?”

Lo swoops in behind me, his arms flying around my waist. He sets his chin on my shoulder, hunching over a little to counter my short height with his tall. “He better have been worth it,” Lo whispers, his hot breath tickling my neck.

“Worth what?” My heart lodges in my throat; his closeness confuses and tempts me. I never know where Lo’s true intentions lie.
He guides me forward as we walk, my back still pressed against his chest. I can barely lift up a foot, let alone think straight. “Your first walk of shame in a frat house. How’d that feel?”

“Shameful.”

He plants a light kiss on my head and disentangles from me, walking ahead. “Pick it up, Calloway. I left my drink in the car.”

  3. I love how you describe it as a hot mess, but in a good way. Addiction is a tough topic for me to read having been around addicts of one kind or another so it is probably one I'll have to skip for the emotional factor. I love how they are bringing this to light though and how the writing seems to be so well done. Excellent review! Jaclyn @ JC's Book Haven.
