Summary
Ellice Traylor has a secret. Beneath her innocent exterior beats an incredibly passionate and imaginative heart. She has been pouring all of her frustrated virginal fantasies into a scandalous manuscript. But when her plans for her future are about to be derailed by her mother's matrimonial designs, she takes matters into her own hands.

Ross Forster, the Earl of Gladsden, has spent his life creating order out of chaos. He expects discipline and calm from those around him. What he does not expect is a beautiful, thoroughly maddening stowaway in his carriage.

But when Ross discovers Ellice's secret book, he finds he can't stop thinking about what other fantasies the disarming virgin can dream up. He has the chance to learn when a compromising position forces them to wed. But can the uptight Earl survive a life with his surprising new wife? And how will the hero of Ellice's fantasies compare to the husband of her reality?
At A Glance
I was so effing bored in the beginning, and it only got slightly better as the book went on.

The Good
About halfway through, this book started to get interesting. Ellice was such a strong but timid character. Something about Ross brought out the sexy beast in her. She became forward and wanton and I loved it. Ellice hadn't had the most exciting life, so watching her live her fantasies was fun. I loved that she knew what she wanted and wasn't afraid to ask. And I have to admit, I am fascinated by people who can write erotica. Without even having the sexual experience to back it up, it's obvious Ellice knew her way around a sex scene.

It was fun to watch Ross struggle with his properness and set ways with Ellice by his side. Ellice excited him, challenged him. He was not use to that so he didn't know if he hated it or loved it. But he knew he couldn't keep his hands off her. Gotta love that kind of crazy lust/passion.

I liked the side stories very much. Each couple was going through their own problems but they all had a very loving relationship. It was so sweet.

The Bad
The first half of this book was so boring I almost gave up. There was too much going on and nothing that interesting. It's also very confusing because there were so many characters and names to remember. I was lost half the time.

But what really annoyed me the most was Ross. I just didn't like him. I didn't like his attitude, his preconceived notions, his personality, his political views, the list goes on. He only redeemed himself a little by the end but too little too late for me.

The Snuggly
Since I didn't like Ross, I didn't care much for the romance. The sex scenes were fine but nothing spectacular. And the romance was so wobbly for so long I just felt blah about the whole thing in the end.

Final Thoughts
The Virgin of Clan Sinclair had some good points. Ellice was an awesome character, but almost everything else didn't work for me. I was just bored, expect for the side stories, which were awesome. Not really recommended.

  1. I struggle sometimes when I venture out beyond the Regency era, with all of the characters it begins to feel like a high fantasy..LOL I am glad you enjoyed aspects but don't think this one is for me.

  4. I try to avoid boring at all costs--and confusion. The book sounds like too much work. My lazy side is showing. :-)

  5. Ah not liking the romantic interest kinda kills the whole thing, doesn't it? I have a series I stopped reading because the character got a boyfriend that I didn't like. I hope your next read is more your thing. Jaclyn @ JC's Book Haven.

  6. This is going to sound bad, but I sick of virgins. Seriously, I've read at least 5 books withing the past couple of week were being a virgin ended up being an issue. lol - I sound like an ass, but it's true. However, that's not why I'd avoid this book. I'm in no need for boring. :)

    1. I am use to historical having virgins because it just makes sense but I am getting tired of all YA and NA books having the virgin thing going. It's just not realistic.
