At A Glance
Everything was going so good. I really liked this book...until the end.

The Good
Creators is the last book of the Lost Souls trilogy. I had high expectations because this ended up being a very interesting trilogy. Definitely a different kind of dystopia. And the best part was the bad guys. They are all so horribly evil, it's freaking awesome.

Tess's dad was straight up messed up. I expected this grand reunion after Tess found out her father, who disappeared years ago, is not dead and is now the leader of the rebels. But he is not the same man she remembers at all. He is hard, cold, and close-minded. He has one goal and he will use and abuse anyone, even his daughters, to get what he wants. I do wish Tess didn't fall for so much of his crap but I respected her for acknowledging his downfalls and keeping him at arms length. It was a smart move.

I loved how the horrible Chosen One we hated from the beginning (George) was so mysterious in this book. Is he a good guy, a bad guy, or just messing with everyone? He really kept me on my toes. And Henry, Tess's long time friend, was so hot and cold. He is a good guy but his past has messed him up. I was surprised by a lot of his actions in this book.

I think Tess did as best she could with her situation. She has a pure heart and so does James. That's why they are so perfect together. Tess never gave up and always fought with all her being. And even when James might have been turned into an enemy, Tess risked everything for their love. Tess may be a little naïve but she is so inspirational too. And by the end, she finally found out who she was and what she believed in.

The plot was good and the pacing felt right. Creators had the best action of the three books. Lots of crappy stuff happens, but Tess finally got to train and fight this time around. She got to be a part of the action which is what I always wanted.

The Bad
The ending. I will never love a book that has an ending like this. I haven't finished certain popular series because I found out they have a bad ending. And Creators had that kind of bad ending. I understand life is unpredictable and this kind of stuff happens in real life (well, in a less dramatic way) but I read because I want to be happy and enjoy myself. What happens in the end of this book was in no way enjoyable for me. It makes it feel like the whole series was pretty useless because what was the point? Now I am just sad. This would have been a 4 star book if not for the ending.

The Snuggly
There is very little romance since Tess and James are separated most of the book. I do love them together though. These two have gone through so much to be together, it's heartbreaking. There is sex but it's not detailed so it is appropriate for a YA audience.

Final Thoughts
If I had known how this book ended, I wouldn't have read it. I just don't like to be sad at the end of a series. However, that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the rest of this book. It wasn't perfectly wrapped up but it was interesting to see all these flawed characters finally reveal who they really are. Recommended for those who can handle sad endings.

The council had already ripped from me too many people I loved. Good people who deserved to live long and happy lives. James and I deserved to be happy too.
