Today we have the awesome L.J. Kentowski, author of the Urban Fantasy/Paranormal Romance book Guardian of Fate (click for review). L.J. have provided us with a great guest post about her double life as a writer and...well, you have to read to find out, but it does involve lots of men. :) Also, don't forget to enter the giveaway below because 3 winners will get a signed copy of Guardian of Fate.
SummaryFear of death is all too common. Visions of it chill the bones and skip heartbeats. Seeing it coming and knowing only you can rescue the soul of the victim from the fiery bowels of hell…that’s downright life-altering.
Cassandra Cosgrove’s life was altered at the age of sixteen when she found out that it was her responsibility to save the lives, and ultimately the souls, of innocent victims targeted by Hell’s demons. As impossible as it seemed at first, she was able to live a fairly normal life, while secretly fulfilling her obligation as a Guardian of Fate.
But years later Fate has its own plan when her visions begin drastically changing at the same time two mysterious men appear in her life. Cassandra suddenly finds herself caught in a battle between good and evil, with her own soul on the line. When it seems everyone in her life has a secret they’ve been hiding from her, who can she trust to be the Guardian of her Fate? ~Add on Goodreads

First off, thank
you, Jennifer, for giving me a spot to shine on your blog today. And a great
big thank you to all of you who are here to share it with me. It’s an honor to
be here.
Now that I have
you all here, I’m going to let you in on a little secret of mine: I’m living a
double life. Well, really it’s more like multiple personalities, but I’ll keep
this simple. By day, I’m a female manager in a manufacturing company owned by a
major corporation, and I’m surrounded by men. By night, I’m an author of adult
urban fantasy and paranormal romance. So, where does the secrecy come in? I’ll
tell you, but you must promise never to leak my identity. Here it is – no one
at the day job knows I’m an author. Seriously, I haven’t told anyone except a
few people whom I’ve bound by blood to secrecy.
You’re probably
wondering what’s the big deal, right? Did I mention I’m surrounded by men? Oh,
and did I also mention my books have a teensy bit of smexy in them? Yeah, so
that’s why. In the position I’m in, I’m kind of known as the ballsy female
manager that doesn’t take a lot of crap from anyone, one that demands respect
from her colleagues. Can you imagine if they read what comes out of this brain?
Case in point: one of the very few that have managed to trip over my book has
already made comments that reading it will be a way of knowing what makes me
tick. Heaven help me if he thinks hot alpha demons from Hell make me tick in
the real world.
Why am I telling
you all of this? Because a double life is exactly what my main character,
Cassandra Cosgrove, is faced with on a daily basis. As a young woman, she’s
trying her best to live a normal life – college, friends, family – but it’s not
as easy for her since she’s tasked with saving the lives of innocent souls from
an eternity of Hell. Being a Guardian Of Fate runs through her veins, so it’s
not like she can get rid of it. It’s her destiny, and the visions she receives
won’t let her forget it. So, every day she goes about her business until a
vision hits her and then it’s superhero time.
As if her life
isn’t crazy enough, two mysterious men suddenly come into it and throw
everything she believed in out of this world… literally. Can she trust them?
Will they lead her to her true fate? Check out Guardian Of Fate, Book #1 in the
Fate Series to find out. And now’s the perfect time to catch up with the series
as Seeker Of Fate, Book #2 is due out December!
If you’d like to
find out more about Guardian and Seeker Of Fate, check out my website at http://www.ljkentowski.com . There are
excerpts, character profiles & interviews, and more.
Right now,
Guardian Of Fate is only available from Amazon,
but will be available by all venues mid-December.
Thanks so much

I love being amongst fellow addicts and look forward to hearing more from
everyone. J
Later Gators!

DeleteI think any woman can relate. I used to not be a romance kinda girl but loved all things paranormal. Then one day, I discovered urban fantasy and paranormal romance and have been addicted ever since. I used to read during my lunch breaks but then I started hiding book covers because they were drawling too much male attention and led to teasing and so on...
ReplyDeleteBook sounds great and I can't wait to check it out! Awesome post and giveaway!
I was the same about Paranormal, Julie. I never read anything paranormal until probably the last 10 years and it's so hard to put them down now! Thank goodness for ereaders now though. You can hide those covers LOL.
DeleteThanks & good luck on the giveaway!
I don't think any woman in real life has the body for a Catwoman costume (Dark Knight Rises doesn't count because a) that character was not really Catwoman, and b) that costume was not the cool purple one from the comic books).
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like Cassandra lives an interesting life, I think it is because I watched too many episodes of Lois and Clark over the years but I love the whole secret life thing :).
But what I wouldn't give to fit in that Catwoman costume! Hahaha. Good luck in the giveaway, Alicia :)
