This is the kind of book that hit me just right but might annoy other people.

The Good
OMG, the drama, the overreactions, the bad choices. I LOVED it all! You don't get into You Make Me for an epic love story with lovable characters and a beautiful ending. You get into this book for beyond flawed characters who don't know what the hell they are doing and just go with their gut.

Caitlyn is annoying, whiny, and indecisive. But I was cool with it because her passion and fire really called to me. She was not meant for a boring, scheduled life and relationship. She was meant for chaos and crazy love. And that's what she got with Heath. I loved how their relationship was something no one else could really understand. They had a unique connection because of their past. I felt bad for Ethan though. He was a normal guy. Caitlyn may have thought she wanted normal, but in the end, Ethan was a filler until Heath showed up again.

Heath is kind of a jerk. He is impulsive and insensitive. But he loves Caitlyn with his whole heart. He had good reasons for leaving her so suddenly years ago, but now he wants her back, and he is willing to do anything to make that happen. Heath was just so...free. He is the kind of guy you know you are going to have a great time with. No dull moments. He isn't the safe choice, but he is the fun choice.

The writing was good and the story kept my attention. Finally, I can say I have read a McCarthy book!

The Bad
Spoilery:
The ending, just no. This whole book is about blurred lines, right from wrong, dramatic conflict, Caitlyn making the right decisions, and seeing if Heath is the correct choice. So everything comes to a head in the end and Caitlyn has to make the big decision. There are so many negatives she needs to consider and a lot of stuff that needs to be talked about between her and Heath. Yeah...no. No problems are addressed, no long talks to see if Caitlyn and Heath are long-term, no resolution. Just "let's get back together because I am sad without you." Yeah, that's obviously the road to a successful relationship - says me, very sarcastically. *head-desk*

The Snuggly
Honestly, I don't know if Caitlyn and Heath should be together, but who the hell cares! They produced some juicy drama and steamy sex scenes. They obviously have hot chemistry and a unique bond that no one can really understand. I like them together, they can be flawed together.

Yes, there is sex and it's pretty hot, you have been warned. :)

Final Thoughts
Again, this book will not be for everyone. The characters might not be perfect, or sometimes even tolerable, but they have this spark that makes you obsessed with their story. I recommend this book, but remember, it's very drama-filled and angsty. It worked for me.
