At A Glance
A good but average contemporary romance.

The Good
I haven't read the first book of the series but this is a stand alone, so I didn't feel like I missed out on anything.

Everything started out great. I liked the characters backstories. They both have had complicated and messed up lives but they are trying to move on with their lives. Emma and Dylan were pretty erratic and emotional people. Neither has had stability in their lives, especially because of their parents, and now they don't know how to have a normal relationship. But I loved how they overcame their pasts and present obstacles to find peace within each other. They had their own drama to get through too, but you could tell that no matter what, they were perfect for each other.

I really liked all the side characters. They seem like a cool bunch of friends but they also have their own issues and lives. It felt real, genuine. The writing was well done and the plot was pretty interesting with Emma's family drama. But it was the steamy romance that stood out.

The Bad
Even though I liked Emma and Dylan together, separate, they fell a little flat for me. Emma was a drama queen with a flare for overreacting. When she found out about some of Dylan's past she waaaaaay overreacted. She had him in the dog house for days for no real good reason. And Dylan was a little boring. I heard he was interesting in the first book of the series, but I didn't see much personality here, except for his 'obsession' with Emma.

I felt my interest waning a little halfway through the book. I was over some of the drama and some of the dialogue started getting corny and silly.

The Snuggly
The sex was the best part. There was so much chemistry between these two. The steam rose from the pages as these two enjoyed each other's bodies. And you know what, sometimes sex is the answer. :D And these two proved it.

Final Thoughts
This was just an average new adult contemporary romance. Nothing spectacular, but I enjoyed myself for the most part. I would like to try book #1 out. Recommend.
